Irene L. Contreras, ATC
Director of Sports Medicine
Irene earned her Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education with an option in Athletic Training from California State University, Chico. Her career began as an Athletic Training Student at the collegiate level, where she later became the Assistant Athletic Trainer and Coordinator of Rehabilitation.
Irene’s 20 years of experience span both athletics and clinical settings in the physical therapy setting. She specializes in rehabilitation with a focus on spine injuries, and currently serves as the Director of Sports Medicine at PEAC Performance. In her personal time, Irene enjoys camping during the summer with her dog, family, and friends.
Mario R. Vela, ATC
Chief Executive Officer
Mario received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Sciences with an emphasis in Sports Medicine from the University of the Pacific and continued on to hold his Masters Degree in Kinesiology, Emphasis in Sports Psychology, from Fresno State University.
With 25 years of experience, Mario’s expertise lies in biomechanics, advanced training. in baseball and softball, and injury assessment and treatment, particularly of the shoulder, knee, and lower leg.
Mario is also the Chief Executive Officer of PEAC Performance. He is passionate about teaching and takes pride in the success of his former students. In his spare time. Mario enjoys watching his sons play baseball, coaching competitive baseball teams, and spending quality time with his family.
Ember Whipple Fiorella, ATC
Certified Athletic Trainer
Ember began her journey as an Athletic Training Student at the collegiate level before earning her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Fresno State College. With 5 years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer, she has gained extensive knowledge from her work with collegiate sports, AAA baseball programs, and as the Head Athletic Trainer at Lassen Community College.
Ember specializes in baseball/pitching injury prevention, spinal injuries and physical therapy. Outside of work, Ember enjoys participating in roller derby and spending time with friends and family.
